Together In Life And Death.....How Bode Oshinusi Died A Day After Dokunmu

The mood of the social order last week was gloomy because of the death of two prominent veteran socialites, Prince Bode Oshinusi and Alhaji Akanni Dokunmu who was popularly known as Madock while alive. While the death  of Prince Bode Oshinusi occurred on  June 4, that of Akanni Dokunmu happened on the ….
Since the announcement of the two prominent Ogun sate sons, many have not stopped talking about their life and influence while oxygen was still in abundance for their lungs.
It is on record that late Oshinusi, the Ijebu-Ode born prince and Alhaji Dokunmu dominated the social scene for almost 50 years. Many people can still remember how many musicians sang their praises in albums especially Ebenezer Obey who dedicated about three albums to their praise.
Countless people could not believe his death despite the fact fact that he has reached the age of 80 when anything can happen, but he decided to bid the world goodbye ten days after he had an elaborate party for his  80th birthday celebrations which he did  on Sunday, May 24, 2015.
The party which held at Yard 158, Kudirat Abiola Way, Oregun had many top personages in attendance who all came to felicitate with him.  The party even had King of world Beats, Sunny Ade on the bandstand that entertained the guests. So, it came as a rude shock to many ten days after that that agile man of that day has passed on.

For Alhaji Dokunmu, we heard he has been sick for a while before his demise just about the same day Bode Oshinusi died. Many people have been talking about his positive impact in their lives especially his bossom friend Chief Alani Bankole, the husband of the late Iyalode Adunni Bankole.
To show that indeed a great man has gone, many more have uploaded the famous O dile Alakanni oo..ninu Ileya track by Chief Ebenezer Obey. A track that was done to give details of the yearly Ileya (Eldri Kabir) ritual at his Abeokuta home
While, Dokunmu is survived by siblings that includes Tunji another socialite, Children wives and others; Prince Oshinusi is survived by Alhaja Hafsat Baby Oshinusi, one of Nigeria’s most prominent society matriarchs, five children and many grandchildren and great grandchildren.
Their remain have been committed to mother earth.
Between King Gushi And Dehinde Lasisi
Today, Saheed Elegushi has been crowned king in Lagos and many people both young and old give him his deserved respect as the position demands. But those who know him whispered aloud to us that if there is a friend that the paramount king of Ikate Elegushi holds dearly to his chest, it is no one but Dehinde Lasisi.
Those who should know informed us that both Elegushi and Dehinde Lasisi have so much in common except the fact that one is a king and the other is not.
For example, we were told that they both attended the same primary, secondary and tertiary schools not only that, we were told they even marry from the same family.

Those who spoke to us about the bond say that whatever you want from King Gushi, just inform Dehinde and it is done. They even joked that he is only the one who can slap the butt of the Oba without him raising an eyebrow.
