It shouldn’t be in doubt that former Federal House of
Representative member, Rotimi Makinde and the late Ooni of Ife, Oba Okunade Sijuade
shared a bond while the later was still alive aside the fact the former
lawmaker revered him as the paramount ruler of the Yoruba kingdom. To the other
side, Rotimi hails from Ife and has also represented the good people of the
cradle of Yoruba at the green chambers of the national assembly.
When the monarch transcended to the great beyond, Makinde
was one of the numerous people who came in to the open to say many good things
about him and how much he’ll miss the fatherly love and advice.
Interestingly, just few weeks after the ex lawmaker has
erected a statue in the memory of the late Oba. The lawmaker erected the figurine
in a new building he is constructing. Although the edifice is yet to be
completed, the statue has been, and it has
taken a permanent location in the building
