Lagos APC Members Resist Imposition Of Candidate for Coming LG Election ….Beat Up Party Chair

It was reign of chaos yesterday at the Secretariat of the Lagos All Progressives Congress (APC), Ojodu Chapter when angry party members descended heavily on the LG party chairman, Hon. Kelvin Ajakaye and perceived negotiators of leaders for attempting to impose a candidate on them for the forthcoming local government elections scheduled to hold in June later this year.

The location of the secretariat that has its base at Ogba within the same local government was

destroyed with evidence of broken windows damaged chairs and electronics that once beautified the meeting place.  Aside the destruction of properties, many party faithful also suffered injury because it became a free for all fight.
According to our dependable source, the LG party chairman had called for a meeting of stakeholders to intimate them on the way forward for the next coming election. Many of the party members had gone to hear their leader out on the best way forward so that victory will be certain for the party come June this year.
Trouble however broke out when the chairman said there will not be any primary in choosing candidate because the party has decided to return a former chairman of the local government council.
The highly disappointed party members threw caution into the air and before anyone knew what was happening, pandemonium had become the order of the day.
The situation would have degenerated further but for the quick intervention of the Area G Command who restored peace to the secretariat’
We further gathered that though, the warring party members have been dispersed but they are still bent in using everything in their power to make sure that the proposed imposition does not stan; even working g against the party to lose the election.
A similar occurrence was said to have led the loss of some local government in the state during the last elections when candidates were imposed on the party including that of the state’s chairman Henry Ajomale whose son lost to the candidate of PDP in Isolo LG.
Now, party member are seeking the voice of the state chairman who has refused to utter a word despite being informed about the crisis. They believe the only place that befits a man who maintains their neutrality in times of moral crisis is no other place than the darkest part of hell.
