If the
life of late Aare Abdulazeez Arisekola Alao appeared like that of a fearless
mogul with influences across all human endeavours with cult-like personality to
you, take a breather, by the time you roll this piece to the last word, you
will be amazed how much influence his death is having on families and
associates.
Undoubtedly, the dream of every man is
to live with the hope of becoming a memory in the hearts of those he or she
leaves behind. Today, the Aare Musulumi of Nigeria, Abdul Azeez Alao Arisekola
is no more, but his memories still hang in the minds of the living for a very
long time to come because of what he was able to achieve while alive.
Apparently, apart from what he was able
to achieve while alive, life after him has been like jackpot for his children,
relatives and those remembered by the mogul while planning for life after
death. Speculations were rife after the demise of the Ibadan based business mogul
that he indeed knew he was going to die; hence he distributed his legacy to his
children and family members judiciously.
Much has been said and
written about his last glorious days, his simple, but classy Islamic burial and
the way and manner his Will was
administered a couple of days after his burial by Dr. Oba Otudeko which has put
paid to what could probably lead to any form of suspicion as to the
administration of Arisekola’s vast estates and stupendous wealth.
It is,
however, no more news that the liquid and landed properties of the unrivalled entrepreneur
had been distributed and utilised according to the content of his Will but
according to the information made available to us, it is obvious that these are definitely
not the best of moments for the family of the late Aare Musulumi of Yorubaland.
Barely a year after the burial of the acclaimed wealthy Ibadan based businessman,
indications are pointing to the fact that the Lister Motors boss' life was
lived on credit while alive.
Sources close to the family divulged
that the credit institutions that overwhelmed Arisekola with depositors’ fund
which he couldn’t offset before his lungs ran out of oxygen are now on the neck
of the family.
Expectedly, the banks, we gathered have
concluded plans with court order to confiscate most of his landed properties
that were used as collateral for the credit facilities he obtained from the
banks.
Meanwhile, some of the immediate family members were not
lucky according to the Will as it was
gathered he disowned them. One of those he reportedly disowned in the Will, we
gathered, was one of his prominent sons along with five other children for one
reason or the other.
We also gathered that a prominent lady said to be married to him and lives in the UK was also disowned and dis-inherited along with two of her young children for an undisclosed reason, which some claim could be based on the long list of men associated with her even, while her husband was still hale and hearty.
Three people were said to have found eternal favour in the sight of Aare and he thanked them and showed his appreciation also in kind, the first was the elder sister, who is to be given $1Million, his most senior driver is to receive $250,000, while his long serving cook will also have no cause to be poor again as he is to be given $250,000 also.
Below are excerpts from the final Will drafted, signed and acknowledged by the late Aare Arisekola Alao himself in the presence of three witnesses and his legal team and certified by Oyo State High Court of Justice, dated August 19th, 2013:

Apparently,
the fleet of properties were shared among 32 children, 3 wives and 3 relations
of the late mogul as listed in Will. They also directed that an estate account
in which monies realised from sales or let of any of the properties shall be
deposited for further expenses required by individuals liable to the prayers of
the Will. Interestingly, the humanitarian gesture of the business icon came to bare as he
prayed that the expansive Oluwo-Kekere, Bodija mansion belonging to him must
become a permanent site for schools consisting primary, secondary and
tertiary institutions within three years. He also prayed that the family must
continue to be responsible for sponsoring people to Umrah and hajj every year.
Moreover,
as directed by the late philanthropist, the properties are to be shared as
follows:
I hereby
DIRECT that my children who are of age shall first be fully maintained from the
