Surprise Party For K1 @ 58

When the acclaimed king of Fuji music Alhaji Wasiu Olasunkanmi Marshal celebrated his 57^th birthday last year, he made it known to  his numerous friends and fans that he will not be celebrating his birthdays again until he becomes 60.

The talented musician’s birthday that has become a yearly ritual took another dimension yesterday. Many

people who would have trooped to his house to celebrate with him, stayed back because of the decision not to celebrate until he attains the age of 60. K1 even added to it by not leaving Lagos for his country home in Ijebu Ogun state to put a stamp on the no celebration stance. But unknown to him, his new manager Hon. Bayo Olasoju has put together a surprise birthday bash for him. The younger in few hours beckoned on close friends and family members of the celebrated musician to converge at the Isaac John GRA Ikeja Protea Hotel. The party, however impromptu as it was,  had many friends and fans of the K1 in attendance.

K1, who was not aware, was invited in to the hall  to meet many people who were already waiting for the birthday ‘boy’. The surprised but highly elated performer could not hide his joy as he was seen pumping hands and embracing many who came to show love to him.

The party lasted till very late in the night before everyone departed.
