The founder
of the Odua People’s Congress (OPC), Dr. Frederick Fasheun is at present at
loggerheads with the outgoing governor of Lagos, Babatunde Raji Fashola (SAN).
The trained
doctor turned social crusader has dragged the governor and the state government
to court over the planned demolition of his property- Century Hotel.
Dr. Fasheun
is praying the court to stop the intended demolition by the government because
of what he termed as political undertone.
To the OPC
leader, it is believed that the governor renewed his interest in the demolition
simply because he rigorously campaigned and supported the opposition at the
just concluded general elections that saw Gen. Buhari (rtd) and Akinwunmi
Ambode emerging as the president and governor-elect.
The OPC
leader maintained that the insistent demolition of his property is politically
induced and he also claimed that the governor wants to demolish his property
because he is a supporter of PDP, political party, and not the governor’s party
which is APC.
The case
which came up last week at the Federal High Court, Ikoyi, Lagos has been
adjourned till later this month.
