Mr
Ibrahim Magu, the new Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC Chairman, who
assumed duty yesterday has declared that under his watch, corruption will be
fought to a standstill in the country.
Magu,
who assumed duty as acting chairman of the Commission also charged staff to
remain committed to the new mandate of the agency, vowing that he will make
sure that what is gotten for common good does not end up in private pockets and
therefore called for commitment to duty among the team.
Magu,
an Assistant Commissioner of Police and a pioneer staff of the agency,
expressed commitment to win the war against corruption while taking over the
agency from the immediate past Chairman, Mr Ibrahim Lamorde
Magu
pledged to work with members of staff of the agency without primordial
concerns, adding that his administration would not tolerate indiscipline or
condone any form of abuse of office.
According
to him, those who engage in such actions are apparently oblivious of the
far-reaching impact of their actions, which go beyond the commission and the
individual.
He
therefore urged members of staff of the commission to support the
administration of the new EFCC boss to move the agency forward.
