President-elect, Muhammadu Buhari today receives his Certificate of Return from the Chief Returning Officer, Prof. Attahiru Jega after his declaration as the winner of the 2015 Presidential Election in Nigeria. In his acceptance speech, Buhari promise never to rule over Nigerians rather to govern with support of the people.

His words: "This is not the first time that Nigerians have voted for us, but this is the first time it has been allowed to count. There shall be no favouritism for any Nigerian based on gender, religion or ethnicity. This will be a democracy in form, substance and how it interacts with its people. On the problems of insecurity, corruption and economic decline, I promise to give my best. I also seek your voice and input. You can always go to bed knowing that you are safe and your safety is guaranteed."

If the information reaching cityroversblog now is anything to go by, tragedy struck the people of Jigawa as Special Adviser on Religious Affairs to Governor Sule Lamido of Jigawa State, Alhaji Isah Ahmed Duniya Bahutu, Monday, knocked down and killed an ex-soldier (names withheld) and injured four others in Birnin-Kudu Local Government Area of Jigawa State.

The accident occurred when the special adviser was returning from Kiyako, his village, a few kilometres away from the headquarters of Birnin-Kudu Local Government. The CAN president in a statement in Abuja, stressed the need for harmony between Christians and Muslims in the quest for a prosperous Nigeria. Oritsejafor also saluted Nigerians for a peaceful election and prayed for a prosperous future for the country. Oritsejafor also praised President Goodluck Jonathan for exhibiting good sportsmanship in conceding to the president-elect. Also, Onaiyekan said losers should learn to accept defeat and the winners should not use this opportunity to oppress the losers.

The Ekiti State Governor, Ayodele Fayose, has urged Nigerians to accept the outcome of Saturday’s presidential election in good faith, saying; “the election result is the will of God and Nigerians, and all lovers of peace, progress and development of Nigeria must accept it”.
